Consequently the pass was closed due to road work. However we were able to reach a point at 4250 meters just before the pass. We got on to an Amazonian Oropendula, Red-crowned Foliage-Gleaner and Jeff saw a troop of Dusky Titi Monkeys. Just before we had to leave the premises, we refound the Chestnut-capped Puffbird at the same place as Ebbe saw it the previous day. The boats were ready to bring us to Manu Wildlife Centre a 7 hour boat ride down Alto Madre Dios. We could see Rio Manu joining the river just before our refueling stop in Boca Manu. We left camp after breakfast and drove down to a small settlement at 2400 meters to bird in some alder woodlands.
